Privacy

Iced Coffee Studio, LLC (“Iced Coffee Studio,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) makes
Emberbound, a dark interactive novel for iPhone and iPad (bundle identifier
com.icedcoffeestudio.emberbound), and operates the website at emberbound.app (the
“Site”).
This Privacy Policy covers the Emberbound iOS app and this Site. It is the
public notice for Apple’s Privacy Policy URL
(https://emberbound.app/privacy). The in-app
Settings → Privacy screen is a shorter version of the same facts. The two must not contradict
each other.
Emberbound does not create accounts. Progress is not uploaded to an Emberbound server. Character
stories stay on the device. The app does not include ads or an analytics SDK. Visiting the Site,
or the app requesting /manifest.json, may still produce ordinary host or CDN logs,
as described below.

What Emberbound is
Emberbound is an iOS app for iPhone and iPad. Version 1.0.0 is iOS only. There is no Android
version.
Emberbound does not create accounts, logins, or player profiles. There is no Emberbound password
to reset.
Progress and saves
Emberbound does not create accounts and does not upload your progress to an Emberbound server.
Character stories stay on this device.
Saves and purchase status are stored on-device with the app’s local preferences. You can keep up
to five character slots.
If you delete the app or reinstall it without restoring those local files (for example from a
device backup), those slots can be lost. Restore Purchases restores the Chapter 1 unlock, not
deleted local saves.
In-app purchases
Emberbound offers one optional one-time non-consumable unlock,
Continue the Bond (emberbound.chapter1.unlock), which continues
Chapter 1 in the same slot.
Restore Purchases uses Apple’s in-app purchase system and your Apple ID so Chapter 1 unlocks
again after reinstall. In the app this is Settings → Restore purchases. Emberbound does not see
your Apple ID or payment details.
Refunds and payment disputes go through Apple, not through Emberbound.
Version and chapter check
When a network connection is available, Emberbound may optionally GET
https://emberbound.app/manifest.json to check
for a newer version or chapter. The request is allowed about three seconds and fails open. If
that request fails, Chapter 1 remains fully readable.
Fonts
Typefaces ship in the app. Emberbound does not download fonts at runtime.
This Site self-hosts Literata and Source Sans 3 the same way. Neither the app nor the Site uses a
Google Fonts CDN.
Ads, analytics, and App Privacy labels
Emberbound does not show ads and does not include an analytics or tracking SDK.
Apple’s App Privacy nutrition labels for Emberbound report that tracking is false and that we do
not collect data for those labels.
This Site also has no analytics or tracking SDK.
Host and CDN logs
We do not claim that we collect nothing.
Visiting this Site, or the app requesting
https://emberbound.app/manifest.json, may
produce ordinary host or CDN logs — for example IP address, user agent, time, and the path
requested. Those logs exist so the host can operate and secure the service. We do not maintain a
customer database of Emberbound players.
A host or CDN may set cookies needed to operate or secure the Site. We do not use advertising or
analytics cookies.
Email
If you write to
hello@icedcoffeestudio.com, we receive whatever
you send (for example your email address and the content of your note). There is no in-app ticket
system.
How we use information
We use host or CDN logs and any emails you send us to:
- Operate, secure, and maintain the Site and the manifest
- Diagnose errors
- Respond to inquiries you initiate
Sharing
We may share information with service providers who help us host the Site or receive email (for
example a web host, CDN, or email provider), and when required by law or to protect our rights and
the safety of others. Those providers process information on our behalf under their own terms and
safeguards.
We do not sell your personal information.
Retention
Hosting and security logs are retained only as long as reasonably needed for operation, security,
and legal compliance. Emails you send us are retained as long as needed to handle your request and
ordinary business records. On-device saves stay on your device until you delete them or the app.
Children’s privacy
Emberbound and this Site are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect
personal information from children under 13.
Your choices and rights
You may contact us at

this policy or about information you have provided by email. Depending on where you live, you may
have additional rights under applicable law; we will respond to requests as required.
You can delete on-device saves by deleting the app (and any device backups that contain them).
Restore Purchases does not require an Emberbound account.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date above will change when we
do. Continued use of the app or the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
